Terms of Use

Version 2026-09-15

1. Accepting these terms

By creating a Hili account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use Hili.

2. What Hili is — and what it is not

Hili is a record-keeping and organisation tool for property information. It is not professional advice. Nothing in Hili is an inspection, an appraisal, a legal opinion, an insurance determination, or an engineering assessment.

Estimates, suggested dates, lifespan indicators, maintenance schedules, county and public records, and anything produced by the Hili assistant are informational only and may be incomplete or wrong. Always confirm with a qualified professional before making a repair, safety, financial, or legal decision.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you put into Hili, for how you use what comes out of it, and for keeping your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. You are responsible for having the right to upload every photo, document, and record you add.

You take responsibility for decisions you make while using the app. Hili helps you keep track; the judgement remains yours.

4. Sensitive information

We work hard to protect your privacy, but no online service is risk-free. We recommend you do not upload especially sensitive private information — government identification, social security numbers, financial account or card numbers, medical records, passwords, or legal documents containing those details. Redact them before uploading a document that otherwise belongs in your records.

5. Your content is yours

You keep ownership of everything you add. You grant Hili only the permission needed to store, process, display, and back up your content so the service can work for you. You can export or delete your data at any time; deleting your account removes your content from active systems, with encrypted backups aging out on their normal schedule.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Hili to store or share unlawful content, to infringe anyone's rights, to impersonate another person, to attempt to access another account, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

7. Subscriptions and trials

New accounts include a 30-day free trial with full features. If you add a payment method during the trial, we add 30 extra free days, for 60 days in total. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel any time from your account settings — you keep access through the end of the period you have paid for.

If a trial ends without a subscription, your account becomes read-only: everything you added stays safe and visible, but you cannot add or change entries until you subscribe.

8. Availability and limitation of liability

Hili is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Hili and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, for lost data, or for decisions made in reliance on information shown in the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Account closure

You may close your account at any time. We may close or suspend an account for a breach of these terms, for unlawful use, or if we must stop providing the service — with reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data, except where immediate action is required.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we will show a notice in the app and ask you to accept the new version before continuing. The version and date at the top of this page always reflect the current terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We will try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally first — please contact us before starting a formal claim.

Questions, problems, or feedback? Ask the Hili assistant in the app. Hili helps where it can, and if it cannot, it will ask your permission before sending your message, that conversation, your email address, and basic device details to our team, who reply by email.
